It’s not about them running the government though. It’s about a process which is focused on outcomes for people, in limited scenarios. The day-to-day running of a state as large as America would still have to be done by politicians, but to deal with specific issues these processes are better because politicians can’t possibly be experts in everything, and inherently politics is tribalistic. This takes the politics out of the policy — and anyway, the idea is that people don’t serve in these assemblies for too long, so someone doing a bad job doesn’t have much power.
